CREATING YOUR ALBUM
Design Process:
My focus is always to create a beautiful layout that highlights your event, and that has a pleasing continuity. I suggest that you choose approximately 60 images for your album, and I’ll do my best to include all of your selections, though all images are not guaranteed to be included in the final plan. There is a 50-page (25-spread) maximum for albums.
Editing:
Once you receive your first draft, review it and communicate to me any changes you'd like. For reference, Page 1 is the first page on the left-hand side; Spread 1-2 would be those first two pages. This first round of edits is free of charge, and if there’s need for additional planning, it will be charged by the hour.
Album Layout:
The style is “layflat,” meaning that the pages open completely horizontally; images can be viewed without warping or creasing. There may be spreads in which there is a photo that crosses the central seam of the album. If I’ve placed images across the seam, I've done my best to make sure that central seam cuts through open space in the image, and not through important elements. The PDF version you'll receive doesn't show the seam line; if you ever have questions, I’m happy to send a screenshot from my design program to clarify placement.
Companion Albums:
You may order an exact duplicate of your own album at a discount. Please note that the discount only applies if all albums are placed in a single order.
Miniature (“Parent”) Albums:
You may order a smaller 6x9” duplicate version for a reduced rate. Page gilding is not available for this style.
Additional Album Design:
If you’d like to make a new album with a different selection of photos, this new design is charged at its full rate, since it would be a unique design, and requires an additional $500.00 non-refundable deposit for the design process.
Payment & Delivery:
The full balance of the album and any additional design work is due to confirm your order. If you paid in advance for an album credit, that value will be deducted from the final value of the album, with any remaining balance due prior to ordering the album. The album will be shipped directly to you.
Your 8x12” horizontal album will have:
•White end papers (front and back, bookending album pages)
•Thick pages with square edges
•Kodak Silk album paper (vibrant color with silk surface finish; produces natural skin tones and warm highlights. Archival value of 100 years in home display, 200 years in dark storage)
•Linen or leather cover
•Debossed text on the front cover (up to three lines of text)
•My business name inside the back cover
•An archival storage box
Options & Additional Costs:
•Rounded corners
•Gilded edges: Silver or gold (available for square page corners only, and not available for small companion albums)
